Fanush's instead of crackers
Diwali is the festival of lights celebrated on the return of Shri Rama along with his wife Sita and his brother Lakshmana to the capital of Ayoddhya after spending 14 years of exile. But this doesn't mean that crackers should be burned and environment be polluted. So as a preventive action , Akashprodip 2.0, an initiative of Khau Khau - খাউ খাউ with Clicking India Clicking, Stories of Kolkata and Calcutta Calling as joint partners, a brilliant effort to make this year's Diwali Eco-friendly and noise free by flying Fanush (Sky lanterns ) and lighting up the sky.
At the end of the day it's all about casting away the darkness and spreading the light and sharing the happiness with each other.
Sky Lantern Festival 2017 was organised on 18th of October by Uttorer Adda in association with Streets of Calcutta with the same objective of a noiseless and smoke free Diwali. It was a sure photographer's delight .
So this is how it went in the Sky Lantern Festival 2017 at Kolkata. Both the events were equally delightful and fun. Got to meet many people in the event. Hope this continues in the future as well. Watch the video till the end.
